Who Is Bill Redpath?
A Libertarian Party member since 1984, Bill is running in Ohio as Libertarian for US Congress. He is a former Chairman of the LNC, having served two terms in that position from 2006 to 2010. He has served on the LNC from 1989 to 1993, and again from 2003 to 2020.
Redpath is one of 14 inductees into the Libertarian Party’s Hall of Liberty, having been inducted in 2016 with former US Representative Ron Paul.
Bill is perhaps best known within the Libertarian Party for his work on ballot access. He served as Chairman of the Libertarian Party Ballot Access Committee from 1990 to 1997 and is currently again in that position. In 1992 and 1996, the Libertarian Party presidential ticket was on the ballot everywhere in the United States. This marked the first time that a “minor” political party placed its presidential ticket on the ballot in all states in successive presidential elections.

He has run for office as a Libertarian candidate six times before; specifically, he ran for the Virginia House of Delegates (1993), the Virginia Senate (special election in January 1998), Governor (2001), U.S. Senate (2008) and US House, Tenth District of Virginia (2010 & 2014)..
Bill was born and raised in Findlay, Ohio, he received his BA in Economics and Political Science from Indiana University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and his MBA from the Booth School of Business at The University of Chicago. Bill moved back to Ohio in 2024 and lives in Findlay.
He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He has earned the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) designation from the CFA Institute. He is also an Accredited Senior Appraiser in Business Valuation in the American Society of Appraisers and holds the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) designation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.Redpath serves as Treasurer of FairVote Illinois, an electoral reform organization that supports Ranked Choice Voting, and serves as Treasurer of Citizens in Charge and Citizens in Charge Foundation, which promote citizen initiatives and referenda. Redpath served as Treasurer and a Board member of FairVote from 1995 to 2020.
